*The following eulogy was published in the Amarillo Globe News in early December, 2015. Kendal, pictured here with her husband, David Gisch, was murdered in a murder-suicide - a murder perpetrated by the man pictured. They visited 6 months before their deaths.*
Kendal Gisch was born December 1st, 1992.
Always a competitor, Kendal secured championships in gymnastics at a young age, and, until her passing, coached aspiring gymnasts. Kendal graduated from Tascosa H.S. and attended Amarillo College, where she was involved in The Ranger newspaper and AC Current magazine. After obtaining her Associate’s Degree in Public Relations from AC, she enrolled at WTAMU and helped lead the Buffalo Advertising team to a top-10 national ranking. In true entrepreneurial fashion, Kendal co-founded GischMedia, an Amarillo-based internet marketing company. Between running a business and being a wife, Kendal found time to cultivate and share her passion for photography.
Generous and incorrigibly gregarious, Kendal imparted expertise as freely as she lavished us with her infectious smile. Hers was a beautiful soul and creative mind. Her magic lied in being both winsome and headstrong, beating odds and bringing out the best in those around her. Her years with us weren’t a measure of her potential but a measure of our great fortune.
Kendal is survived by grandparents Evelyn Schaffer, Sharon Raker, Lyle and Janda Raker; parents, James and Sue Kuehler, Sheri and Ed Chavez; siblings, Keri Swanson, Kristin Heard, and Kathryn Kuehler; and, four nephews and a niece.
